The Battle of Gettysburg

Today known as Pickett’s Charge, this attack was repulsed by Union troops, resulting in General Lee having to withdraw his defeated forces back through Virginia. In November of 1863, President Lincoln used the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery to honor the fallen and deliver his famous Gettysburg Address.
